When you use Oyla, we may collect the following information:
- Account Information: When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. When you sign in with Apple (Sign in with Apple), we receive your name and email address; if you choose Apple's "Hide My Email" option, we receive a private relay email address instead of your real one.
- User Content: Polls you create, votes you cast, and comments you post.
- Usage Data: App interaction data such as pages viewed, features used, and timestamps.
- Device Information: Device type, operating system version, and language preferences.
- Advertising Identifiers: To show ads, our advertising partner (Google AdMob) may collect device advertising identifiers and related data. See the "Advertising" section below.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain the app's functionality
- To display polls, votes, and user profiles
- To send notifications about activity on your polls

3. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely on Google Firebase infrastructure (Firestore, Authentication, Cloud Storage). We use industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS).
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share data only in the following cases:
- With your consent
- To comply with legal obligations
- To protect our rights and prevent fraud
- With service providers (Firebase/Google) who process data on our behalf
5. Advertising
Oyla displays ads through Google AdMob. To deliver and measure ads, AdMob may collect and process device advertising identifiers, IP address, and general usage data. On iOS, any tracking that uses your device's advertising identifier requires your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework; if you do not grant permission, you may still see non-personalized ads. You can reset or limit ad tracking at any time in your device settings. AdMob's processing of data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy).
6. International Data Transfers
Your data is processed and stored on Google Firebase infrastructure, which may be located in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where data is transferred internationally, it remains protected under appropriate safeguards and subject to this Privacy Policy.
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your profile and associated personal data are deleted promptly. Some information may be retained for a limited period where required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or prevent abuse.

You have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Delete your account and associated data (available in Settings)
- Export your data upon request
- Withdraw consent at any time
9. Cookies and Tracking
The Oyla mobile app does not use cookies. We may use Firebase Analytics for anonymous usage statistics. You can opt out through your device settings.
10. Children's Privacy
Oyla is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it promptly. See our Child Safety Policy for more details.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
